I am absolutely thrilled and happy beyond belief with my hair! It’s been 10 years since I’ve had anyone do my hair so I was really nervous. Dawn was very warm and welcoming. Dawn was a joy to chat with and really made me feel at ease! I liked that she explained each step of the process and answered all of my questions. I liked that I felt attended to during my appointment. She wasn’t busy with other clients or doing other things. My appointment was her focus and I appreciated that. When it was time to take the rollers out, I was so nervous. I looked up and tears came to my eyes. Dawn gave me exactly what I wanted. The precise curl pattern and hair cut that I asked her for! I am so happy and everyone loves my hair. I feel great! Thank you Dawn!! Additionally, she gave me instructions and recommendations on how to care for my new perm. Have I mentioned how happy I am?? . The shop is clean and cute too!

Dawn is my girl. Im the type of person who will cut my bangs if I feel like someone cant make them look the way i want them too. And that goes for the perm too. If I get em done and they look bad, I never go back. But Dawn she gets me, I can say what I want pretty vaguely, and she makes me look good she saves me…im trying to make it in the music industry so my aesthetic matters, its a huge part of it, its like everything. So thanks Dawn, for sharing your art with me, in hairstyling, and your wisdom about life, sitting in your chair has been very healing 🙏❤️🔥

I came to Dawn to refresh my perm. She changed the curl shape to something softer that was exactly what I wanted. She also listened to my request and actually gave me layers so I totally love the haircut and I am getting lots of compliments on it. I definitely would recommend

I have super fine hair that refuses to curl so took a chance on getting a perm and it looks amazing! Dawn is a perm expert and understood I was looking for volumn and body, not kinky curls. Dawn truly is the Queen of Perms. I went to her for my first perm ever and also a cut. I was a little nervous, but not too much because the many photos of her work on her website speak for themselves. (If you haven’t looked yet, you should!)
I can’t say enough good things about the experience. She was friendly and fun, helpful and understanding when a problem with Apple Maps sent me to the wrong building, and just generally fun to talk to and spend time with.
The service itself was fantastic, she’s VERY fast, but skilled enough that her speed doesn’t compromise the quality. She did a great cut very quickly and then right on to the perm.
And now the best part, the RESULTS: I couldn’t be happier! It’s EXACTLY what I asked her for, just like the pictures I brought for inspiration. And my hair is naturally so stick straight, it looks flat ironed when it air dries. The cut, the shape, the wave, all absolutely perfect. Thank you Dawn!

My hair is super fine and I let it go gray and grown out during the pandemic. I liked the way it looked but my hair refuses to curl so I did some investigating looking for ‘the best perm in Portland” and found Dawn so I made an appointment. I explained that volume and body was what I wanted, not kinky curls, she understood what I wanted and I could not be happier with the results. The atmosphere in the salon was pleasant and Dawn was a delight. Highly recommend.

I’m using my husbands Yelp account. (I, Kristine, do not have one). So the man in the profile picture didn’t get the perm. I Kristine, went from straight boring mom hair (bun) to beautiful bouncy curls. I feel more put together and I love love love waking up to curly hair now. Dawn did a great job with my perm and I recommend her 100%.

I found Dawn on Google after receiving a perm that fell out in approximately a month. I was looking for an expert in perms and was so glad I found her! She got me in very quickly for a consultation and could tell what went wrong with the fallen out perm. She discussed with me how she would go about doing a perm that would last and we agreed on what I’d like done after looking at pictures of perms she’d done in the past. She was able to schedule me in quickly for the actual perm, did everything she stated she would, and it turned out fantastic!!! I LOVE IT!! I’ve had many, many perms throughout my life (I’m 52 now) and this is the best one yet. I definitely plan on going back!!

Dawn is amazing, highly, highly recommend! I had an initial consultation/appointment with her about a month ago. She took the time to get a feel for my hair and gave me a fantastic trim. Since my hair is color treated (I’ve been bleaching for years) she advised that I wait at least a couple weeks before proceeding and sent me home with a protein treatment to build up my hair before getting a perm.
My appointment was about three weeks later and although I still had some damage to my ends (which she warned me could effect the results of a perm) we went ahead with the perm and the results are AMAZING!
I’ve had one perm before this in the 90’s and it was so bad it took me 20 plus years to even consider trying again and I’m so so glad I did!
My hair is so fun, I feel good about myself (which is especially nice considering quarantine’s got me 15 lbs heavier than usual and not wearing make-up) and I get compliments all day long which is a delightful (and needed) boost.
Thank you Dawn, you truly are the Queen of Perms!

I came to see Dawn to have a touch up my roots to cover my gray grow out after a very long Covid stint. My hair is dark brown with blonde highlights and my gray is getting worse and worse. Dawn fixed me up exactly how I had wanted. She blended the dark and gray grow out great with the already existing highlights. Everything blended perfect!

Dawn has given me 2 perms now 9 months apart. They last and are wonderful for ease of care and the compliments I get on my hair! She has also colored my hair twice. Helping to resolve my old highlighting and hair damage. Looks great and holds up well!
As a 3rd set of 5 stars to her, I asked for her to cut my hair shaping the squared off back to a softer V shape with tapering towards the front….
Very Happy with all she has done!!! Will definitely be back for whatever I need next! Thanks Dawn!

I was on vacation in Portland for the holidays and reached out to Dawn for a cut and perm. She asked for a picture and was very helpful and encouraging in recommending a perm for my hair type. I had to change my appointment twice and was ultimately unable to get my hair done because of scheduling conflicts. Dawn was incredibly accommodating, helpful, quick, and kind. I’ve only had the pleasure of getting my hair cut and dyed by Dawn twice, but I can say she is a true master of her craft. Her coloring always looks superb and surprisingly natural as she helped dye my hair black from being a natural blonde. My hair always feels silky smooth and healthy after each dye and never feels dried out even though I have incredibly thick hair. She really knows her way around a pair of scissors because I can show her a picture of what I want and next thing you know it she’s already done! She’s very quick yet precise with her work, which is something I appreciate. I walk out of every appointment feeling like a movie star and I show off my hair to anyone I can find! She is a great help in achieving the look I desire. Dawn is such a lovely lady and makes a great conversationalist. She’s always so accommodating with offering tea or coffee and even gave me cookies after my last appointment! How nice of her! I always look forward to my appointments with her. My hair looks like my dream hair thanks to her!

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved curls. My hair is so straight and for years I have been curling it or creating waves. No body has ever seen my natural hair. I knew it was time for a change, so I researched perm stylist in the area. I came across Dawns before and after pics and fell in love. I knew I had to go to her and definitely made the right choice. This was my first time going to see Dawn for my hair and wow. I was impressed. I got a perm and haven’t had one since I was a teenager. Dawn was so knowledgeable and knew just what to do with my type of hair. I was a little nervous with such a big change since I have straight fine hair.She was very welcoming and made me feel so relaxed.I love how my perm turned out. Dawn is a true professional stylist, skilled in people skills (you immediately feel as though you are in good hands), color and yes, the cut! I feel so lucky to have happened upon someone so competent- as she works her touch is firm and assured. She casually took off the length (twenty years), then did a beautiful weave. And most amazingly, we were finished in an hour and forty-five minutes. My hair is fine but I have a lot of it– she knew just what to do! It’s wonderful to finally find that kind of know-how. I’ve always wanted curls but my stick straight hair has never wanted to cooperate. I had already been turned down by one Korean salon that specialized in digital perms so my expectations were low when I called Dawn. Right from the start she was very friendly and supportive. She gave me a consultation over the phone and even scheduled an appointment for me on her day off! She was very patient with me and answered all my questions about perms and took my concern very seriously. After talking to her in person we decided that the spiral perm would give me the effect I was looking for and that with the air oxidization method the damage to my hair would be minimal. I absolutely adore my curly permed hair and will be going back to Dawn in the future for touch ups.

I just happened upon Dawn today, when looking to get a pedicure. That wasn’t available, but Dawn offered to touch up my highlights. I knew nothing of her or the salon. Let me just say that it was worth the risk! She did a great job on my color, after which, I decided to go for a cut as well. She was so thoughtful and patient as I tried to decide just how short I was prepared to go. By the time it was all said and done, she’d probably given me 3 different cuts. I kept saying, “shorter” and she totally accommodated me with patience and a great attitude!!! I love my new hairstyle and would highly recommend her for cut and color!!

Dawn did an amazing job on my hair! I have tried to perm my hair multiple times without success… I’ve been told that my hair is “extra strong” (I am full Japanese). Dawn was able to get me the curls I’ve always wanted! I will definitely be going back! No more messy buns Thank you, Dawn!

It’s been years since I had a professional touch my hair. My hair is very difficult and wild. My mom use to tell me “God gave you that hair to prove to you that you would not be able to control everything in my life”. But after lots of research and reading her yelp reviews, I made an appointment with her. She is in a easy to access location. The shop is wonderful and clean. The staff is professional and welcoming. Dawn assessed my hair, gave me great product advice, then we made an appointment and she cut my wild hair and gave me a spiral perm. Then a couple weeks later, I had her do some root touch ups. Wowza! My hair is healthy and happy. And, so am I. She is at pro at what she does! She’s fun, personable and a true professional. I like the reminders she sent about appointments and her follow up texts. Just a all around great experience.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a couple of months. I came to dawn with a pretty bad, uneven perm, and she saved me. She re-permed my hair, giving me the curls of my dreams. I literally get compliments on my hair all of the time now.Dawn. Is. Great.
